Against all odds (final episode)

Hi guys 🤗
Trust you had a nice week 😊
Let's get back to our story

Kike was the first to scream out. She ran outside shouting and screaming at the top of her voice "egbami o!! egbami o!!! " In no time people had rushed into the house they carried Mrs Odeshina and rushed her to the hospital........  That morning Tayo had called the family together and  broke the sad news to them that it was the whole family that conspired against them and sold the farm. Mrs Odeshina fainted on the spot.
She was rushed to the hospital by neighbours and after few hours she regained consciousness. The doctor told Tayo that she would have to remain in the hospital for some days because her blood pressure was really high. She was placed on some medications and discharged after some days.
Months passed and things began to get really bad for the Odeshinas. The token they received from the sale of the farm was barely enough for kikes final exams. Moreover Mrs Odeshina was still on medication and it consumed a lot of money. Her little business had also crashed because she stopped getting produce from the farm. It got to a stage that they had to start selling some of their belongings just to be able to eat. Tayo tried so hard to keep the family in one piece. He would work on people's farm, serve as labourer for bricklayers and all sorts of jobs. Kike on the other hand got into the hand of wrong friends and she became so wayward. Her and her friends sold their body to all sorts of men for money. Their mothers health began to deteriorate speedily and she could no longer get up from bed. All she could do was cry to God daily to save her family and have pity on them.
One day Tayo got home from one of the places he had gone to work. He met his mother in a really bad state. It was like she was going to did the next minute. She had exhausted her drugs two days before and there was no money to buy more. They were swimming in debts already so buying on credit wasn't an option. Out of frustration Tayo ran to his uncles house to beg for some money but instead of getting the money, his uncle rained curses on him. He called him an hopeless fellow who could not cater for his life. He even blamed his late father for not training him well. Tayo left his uncles house in tears and swore never to beg for money in his life ever again.
Tayo got home only to find a crowd in their compound. He knew his mother was gone. He went into his room and cried out his eyes. Mrs odeshina was buried the next day right beside her husband. This incidence was the turning point for Tayo. He made up his mind to make it in life no matter the challenges....
Tayo began to learn fashion designing and after about three years he had his own shop with two apprentice under him. At that time kike had relocated to the town where she was still into prostitution. Though this bothered Tayo, there was nothing he could do about it.  He tried persuading her to stop once but her mind was made up.
One day was working in his shop when suddenly a fleet of cars parked right in front of his shop. A man walked out of one of the cars and approached him saying the commissioner wanted to see him. He was dumbfounded. Why would a commissioner want to see me he thought. He went out to meet the person and to his greatest surprise there was the commissioner for works of the state waiting for him. He introduced himself and asked why he was summoned.  The commissioners PA handed him a card an told him to be at the address the next morning.
He got to the place the next morning and was surprised by  the way everyone greeted him like they had been expecting him. After sitting in the reception for few minutes, the receptionist told him that the commissioner was to see him.....
" Good morning sir"
" Good morning how are doing? "
"I'm fine sir"
" OK I know you are surprised by all this but I want you to know that it is for you good.  I was at your house yesterday before I was directed to your shop where I saw you"
" My house?? " Tayo was surprised because nobody told him that he had visitors.
" Yeah. It might interest you to know that I am also from okeku village. I grew up there as a young boy though my parents were very poor. One day I met a man while I was selling corn for my mother. He took great interest in me and sponsored my education. Luckily for me I got a scholarship immediately after my secondary school education to study abroad and that was what made me who I am today. I came to the village to campaign then I decided to give that man that sponsored me a visit. The neighbours told me he was dead but he had a son and they lead me to you "
At this point Tayo was in tears he slapped himself severally to confirm that he wasn't dreaming....
" calm down Tayo you are so lucky to have such a father and I want you to know that whatsoever suffering you are encountering now is gone. "

To cut the long Story short, the commissioner established Tayo's business and he became one of the most popular fashion designers in the state. He located kike in the town by that time she was already carrying a baby. And the doctor advised her not to abort again for her not to lose her womb. She gave birth to the child and since she was still relatively young she went to the University. After few years she graduated with a second class in banking and finance. With the influence of the commissioner she also became the manager of one of the leading banking institutions in the state. They both made it in life due to their unrelenting coupeled with the good works their father did before his death. They won against all odds.
